Children's Parliament on the Environment 2012
We will be working with 10 Year 6 Primary school classes in the borough who will be researching a range of environmental topics and presenting their work in the council chamber of the town hall on March 14th 2012.
Earls Court Project
St. Cuthbert with St. Matthias CE Primary and Fulham Primary schools Years 5 and 6 have been involved in a project focussing on the Regeneration of Earls Court. The project was commissioned by Capital and Counties as part of an ongoing consultation on the regeneration of Earls Court over the next twenty five years to improve the area with new businesses, homes, shopping areas, open spaces and entertainment.
The children took part in environmental quality surveys of the local area, undertook a community mapping exercise and discovered some of the heritage of the two exhibition centres. They created dioramas of their own vision of the future for Earls Court, contributed to a public consultation event and met some of the stakeholders involved in the project to ask them questions and give them their views.
St. Cuthbert with St. Matthias designed and created their own model sustainable buildings from recycled materials and Fulham Primary school held an exhibition of photography and artwork inspired by the local area.

Teachers can acquire a range of practical transferrable skills by taking part in this project including learning how to conduct Environmental Quality Assessments of the local area. Contact us to book this free project.
