Children's Parliament on the Environment 2008
The 2008 Children's Parliament on the Environment will take place on 26th November. Ten primary schools will take part, researching an environmental issue which they are concerned about, and making a presentation to local decision makers in the Council Chamber. If you would like more information on this event, please get in touch.
This project is run in collaboration with LBHF Environment and Children's Services department and Hammersmith and Fulham LA21 Forum.

Local Area Studies
A session to explore the opportunities the local area offers to Programmes of Study in Geography and History. The session will also highlight the support and guidance available from the Urban Studies Centre. This course is targeted at Newly Qualified Teachers.

The Local Environment
This session will provide the materials, activities and guidelines that form a Programme of Study for an investigation of the local environment at Key Stage 2. The materials explore strategies that can be used to engage children's interest in their local area and promote active citizenship.

Climate Change
A session providing ideas, materials and guidance on the issue of climate change and sustainability through a range of cross-curricular activities for use at Key Stage 2. Themes will cover the historical context, the geography of climate change, the science of the greenhouse effect, impact on biodiversity and future scenarios - all with particular reference to the local area.
