The Abolition of Slavery 1807-2007 Introduction
Granville Sharp2007 marks the 200th anniversary of the Act of Parliament abolishing the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

The resource aims to inform and enrich teaching and learning about enslavement and its consequences by tracing the links of people and places in Hammersmith and Fulham to enslavement, the slave trade and its abolition. It traces the lives of enslaved Africans and their descendants, detailing their presence and experiences in the local area. It also celebrates the contribution of the black community to the development of this diverse, multicultural borough.

Above all, this resource aims to encourage teachers to develop a locally-based black history focus across their curriculum programmes.
